A Series Axles

The A series axle assemblies are for mounting pairs of wheels fitted with roller or ball bearings, the lock nuts and tab washers providing adjustment for opposed taper roller bearings. The A series axles take standard applied wheel loads from 1,500kg to 12,000kg per wheel, and Brauer can also go beyond this standard load range where a customer has a specific need. The wheel bearing axle diameter and the maximum/minimum wheel hub width should be selected to match the wheel’s bearing bore and the wheel’s width at the bearings. The two large supporting axle brackets are slotted and slide along the main axle diameter, allowing lateral positioning of the axle and wheels on installation. Part numbers are specified with the required dimension between bearing abutment shoulders in millimetres (the ‘‘ in A25/), to be stated by the customer when ordering. The assembly is supplied complete with 2 axle brackets, 2 bearing retainer/adjustment nuts and 2 tablock washers. Axle material: steel to BS970: Part 1: 1983: 606M36 or 605M36. The maximum load rating applies to gradually applied loads (for shock loads multiply by a shock loading factor of 0.65) and to radial loads only — where axial loads are to be applied in conjunction with radial loads, refer to Brauer for allowable loads.
